In 2015, one of our dear UERM87 classmates faced a medical crisis and financial hardship during the course of treatment. The outpouring of financial and medical help from classmates, friends and family was phenomenal. As individuals, we can make a positive difference. This can lead to an even greater impact with collaborative effort. A class reunion on the West Coast in 2016 fueled the spirit of gratitude for our many blessings as well as the desire to share and give back. Our camaraderie reminded us that we had similar personal goals.  It was time to organize and operate to fulfill the shared charitable mission. We knew we needed to find ways to get together again and the best way to do it was to help out friends and others. This sparked the creation of a foundation among a group of UERM Medicine Class 1987 members.  Since 2016, the foundation has provided financial assistance for charity and healthcare projects .
