What prompted the creation of the UERM 1987 Foundation?
It took one individual to spark the creation of the foundation. As one of our dear UERM classmates faced a medical crisis and financial hardship during the course of treatment, the outpouring of financial and medical help from classmates, friends and family was phenomenal. As individuals, we can make a positive difference. This can lead to an even greater impact with collaborative effort. This ignited the creation of a foundation among a group of UERM Class ‘87 members.

Provide economic support for health needs of challenged individuals and communities

Provide support and educational opportunities to develop leaders and skills in the healthcare sector

Provide direct care and ensure healthcare access

Foster camaraderie among its membership

Who can join the foundation?
Membership Criteria:
-
Anyone who attended UERM Class 1987 at any point (whether it be months or 4 full years)
-
A spouse or first degree relative of a member who attended UERM Class 1987
-
A non UERM Class 1987 member with a member sponsor

How much is the cost of Membership Dues?

Membership dues of one hundred dollars
-
($100.00 or equivalent in currency) per year.

The foundation is a nonprofit corporation. Fees are tax deductible.
Who can apply for financial assistance?

UERM ’87 classmates or active members, their legal spouses, or first degree relatives who incur an illness that results in death or the loss of ability to work for at least 3 months
-
Support is based on an allocated budget decided on a yearly basis

What is expected from the foundation
members?

Spread the mission of the foundation

Participate in a meaningful way in foundation projects, in any capacity, be it sharing financial resources, time or skillsets

Participate in working committees

Members may seek meaningful projects and make recommendations to the board of directors

Keep membership dues updated

How often do the board members meet for strategic planning and meetings?

The board of directors hold at least 10 meetings a year either face to face or via teleconference

A strategic planning meeting is held at least once every 2 years

How will members be updated on the foundation activities?

E-mail, newsletter, website, and social media updates will be used to keep members abreast on foundation activities

Annual member meetings for foundation and FUN activities will be announced​
Can anyone DONATE to the UERM87 Foundation without being a member?

YES! Donations and contributions are more than welcome for any and/or all projects and beneficiaries that the foundation supports
